serach in windows

i have a 4.4.169 version. when i look for a file added by me like a song, an internet link, a document - no results! it only finds /deep/ windows files. i had this future in the 4.3.1 version but it stopped working searching coz this software has no updates...now I have the latest version , so I expected it will be working now like earlier. no! why not? whats up?
