Getting "sensor failed 8" on Dexcom One+ status

On "System Status" -> "Sensor Status", I see the cryptic message "Sensor Failed 8".
Where can I find the description for sensor errors? What does it mean?

Any attempt to reconnect has failed since this error came up.

That is not a connectivity issue. I'm not saying there is no connectivity issue. For that, I need to see a screenshot of the Dex status page.

If there is no connectivity issue, and you see a sensor error, it could be due to a serious damage to the sensor or it could be a temporary malfunction that may resolve itself.
A sudden change in temperature or putting pressure on the sensor could cause a temporary sensor error.

It happened all of a sudden, no clues really. It was up&running for 2 days and yesterday evening this error came up.

It cannot connect since.

That status page shows that it is connected.
But, there is a sensor error.
If you have a Dexcom G7 receiver and turn it on, it will tell you the same thing.
Or if you install Dexcom app, it will tell you the same thing.

So I should ask a Dexcom forum about "sensor failed 8"?

I would guess the engineering team is able to identify the detailed error description, a mapping represented by this sensor error case, no?

I cannot use the Dexcom app unfortunately...

There are codes that a Dexcom device sends that are not identical for different errors.
Dexcom app or Dexcom receiver may convert those codes to something like replace sensor, or temporary sensor error, may recover in up to 3 hours.
Regardless of what the code is, if it has been more than 3 hours, it makes no difference for you.

If you must know the meaning of error 8, I don't know who can tell you exactly what it is.
In my opinion, it makes no difference.
Asking in a Dexcom forum will not provide any answer to you. Those in Dexcom forums use Dexcom app or Dexcom receiver. They never see the codes.

At the end of it all, treat the sensor carefully. When you take a shower and are drying yourself, be gentle with the sensor. When you walk through a door, be careful not to hit the door frame with the sensor.
Don't lie down on the sensor.
If you get a sensor error, stop lying on it and hopefully, the readings will come back.
That's all that matters in my opinion.
