Scaling on foldable devices

We are now on the 7th generation of foldable devices from Samsung. Is there any plans to add better scaling support when using the inner screen?

This is what it looks like at the moment (Fold7, nightly 2025.07.25). Obviously the font is much too big and xDrip is not using the offered screen size at all.

I'm not even sure which one of the two screens you consider to be sub-optimal. Can you please explain?

When using the outer inner screen the font of the status bar (3 Minutes ago... etc) is gigantic. The screenshot above maybe doesnt really capture it, but look at the "Ends in 8.4 days" in comparison. When you use the outer screen that text looks the same size on both screens.

Edit: Fixed typo. The problem is on the inner screen only.

To be clear, it does not display xdrip on both displays at the same time. Only one at a time. The rest of the scaling works, just not the textbar.

Can you tell me the resolution of your outer screen. I will then bring up a virtual device with the same resolution to see if it looks the same or not.

It is the inner screen.

Outer screen works fine, since the resolution is like a normal slab phone.

You stated that other apps behave differently in this respect compared to xDrip.
Can you show with screenshots how other apps behave?

When you unfold your phone, it effectively becomes a tablet. xDrip intentionally increases the font size on tablets because you normally keep a tablet farther from your face than a phone.
Of course user can control the font size using Android.
But, since you stated that other apps are different, would you please let me see?

It is only the font size of the status bar (% in range, high etc.) that scales weirdly because the aspect ratio is probably unusual. Everything else scales fine.

I don't believe so.

The Main glucose value and the notifications should scale the same way as well.
The items that don't scale, don't scale on a tablet either. So, someone who uses a tablet may complain why those don't scale and we may have to fix that also.

It is only for testing. it is not an official release. You can install it in parallel with the official xDrip. Don't use it to connect to a sensor that could interfere with the real xDrip.
Just install it and set it up as a follower from your main xDrip. Please post a screenshot so that we can see how the fonts look like.
