New Phone - old Watch

When using a new phone and a smartwatch with xdrip installed, do i have to reinstall xdrip on the smartwatch via the new phone or does ist work as soon xdrip is installed and configured on the new phone?

I think the versions need to match, so if you put a newer xDrip on the phone you'll need to update the watch (wear installer 2 is useful for this). Assuming it's a WearOS watch with the xDrip WearOS component installed.
