Tidepool not getting treatment notes

I have Tidepool enabled in the Cloud Upload section. I am getting data in the Daily tab in Tidepool. However,

1. Any notes that I add (I enter what I've eaten for example) are not being synced over. I don't know if these notes are considered treatments, but do not have Don't upload treatments setting turned on anyway. Are notes supposed to be synced? In some discussions here I'm reading people are getting treatment notes into Tidepool.
2. This might be a Tidepool issue, but in the Basics tab there is no data at all. Only the Daily tab shows my gcm data.

I'm not sure if 2 is related to why notes may not be uploading, but I emailed Tidepool support and they said the uploads from XDrip+ does not appear to conform to the expectations set by the Tidepool Data Platform to display CGM data.

xDrip+ is a community-developed solution to send data to the Tidepool Data Platform and as such we cannot speak to the implementation they've done.

I see the datatype for these records are cbg, which is the correct kind for CGM, but I believe there is some other annotation that is missing from the records that would cause them to be displayed as such in the Tidepool Data Platform.

Please ask the developers of xDrip+ to resolve this to have your CGM data display correctly in the Tidepool Data Platform.

Please enable the last item on that page (new auth). Let me know if that solves the problem.

That doesn't seem to have made any difference. I checked Use New Auth and I clicked the Test Tidepool Login to make sure it was connecting properly and it is. I added a note and waited for my CGM data to upload. It did and I see new CGM data in the Daily tab but still no notes. And my Tidepool Basics tab is still showing no devices.

You can enter treatments (insulin and carbs) in xDrip. They should be uploaded to Tidepool.
Why is that not enough for you?

Maybe my terminology isn't right. I'm clicking the Treatment Note on the main display to add what I'm eating. They are not syncing to Tidepool.

So instead of entering insulin or carbs, you enter a note stating 2 units of insulin or 15 grams of carb?

If yes, my question remains unanswered. Why?
Why are you not just entering insulin or carb instead?

I appreciate your response. That'd be ridiculous of me to enter those as notes. I'm not entering a note saying 2 units of insulin. I'm entering a note saying I ate a cheeseburger so I can record how the food impacts my bg. I'm also entering a note saying I did exercise so I can see how the activity impacts my bg. Is there a better way to record this than a treatment note?

For completeness sake, tested adding a treatment of 100 units of insulin via the dropper tool on the main display and it did sync across to Tidepool. So it seems treatments are syncing but treatment notes are not.

When someone reports a problem, I need to know exactly what they do and what they expect.
I need to be able to reproduce the problem.
If what they do makes no sense to me, I will not be able to reproduce the problem.
If I cannot reproduce the problem, I cannot even consider a solution.

If treatments themselves did not upload to Tidepool, it would make no sense for a developer to spend time making sure that notes uploaded. Priorities matter considering how overloaded we are with requests and how small number of developers we are.

So, along the same stream of thought, can you perform another test?
I don't know if you know that you can attach a note to a treatment.
So, when you enter a carb treatment for your cheeseburger, instead of adding a separate note, you can just tap on that carbs treatment. As soon as you do that, for a few seconds, you will see add note at the bottom of the screen. Tap on it. You will be able to enter a note and OK. After you do that, the note you entered will be added to that treatment.

Can you find out if the attached note is also uploaded to Tidepool or not?

This of course will not address the exercise note. But, it will address the cheeseburger note.
But, again, let's break down and understand the problem one step at a time please.

I did not know you could attach notes to treatments! I tested by adding a carb treatment and attached a treatment note to it. The carb treatment appeared but it did not show the attached note. Also, I don't see treatment notes being copied from the treatment object into the EWizard object so I don't think this was ever implemented.

I found the TODO to upload just notes without treatments without treatments 😬

So I don't think we have any bugs here. Just feature requests? :)

Side note when I was poking around: I didn't notice anywhere in the code that set the origin.name, origin.type or origin.version. These seem to be required fields when uploading the cbg data per the Tidepool API documentation. But clearly their API is accepting the data without these fields but it might make sense to add them in case they start enforcing it.

I can confirm notes attached to treatments and standalone treatment notes make it to Nightscout.

I came here to ask for the same thing. If it helps- the 'notes' I am looking for are just that, notes. They are definitely not 'treatments' which would be insulin, carbs, etc. Nor are they connected to those treatments.
I also contacted Tidepool, they said the same, that 'notes' were not being sent in the correct format. I followed what you asked of original poster, if that helps. I posted this on FB, but came here so it was all in the correct place.
