xdrip on 2 devices for same sensor not possible?

I have this right that I cannot bind two phones to one sensor? Reason is when switching devices I'd like to test how the new one gets along with xdrip before I spend all the time setting it up, migrating data etc. Would help if I can install xdrip first, if that works, do the rest.

You can pair as many phones as you want to the same sensor.
But, only one can get readings at any time.
Also, establishing connectivity to a sensor that has just disconnected is not possible. You have to wait 15 minutes for G7 to go to rapid reconnect mode before you can connect to it.

There are many who struggle connecting to a G7 with xDrip.

But, it is no everyone's cup of tea. I can see how anyone can get really frustrated. I can do what you are describing. But, I am not sure it is something that everyone would feel comfortable doing.

Connecting to the sensor worked a charm. Apart from what I wrote it just came up that I may have to return the phone and don't want to waste 5 days of sensor life, doubly so since I'll look into the voltage warning issue.

After powering down the new phone after 5 attempts or so I paired the sensor to the old one. The old one, a Pixel 4a, used to provide data via BYODA as companion. The native xdrip BT comm to G7 works a lot better than expected.
