Missing QR Code - XDrip Crashes When I Scan QR Code

Hi. I can't get my son's G7 transmitter to connect with XDrip+. My 11-year-old son is hard on things so we give him an old phone to monitor his blood sugars. It's a Samsung S5. I have the latest XDrip+ installed which supports Android 6.0.1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled XDrip+. I have restarted the phone. No other Dexcom apps are installed on the phone.

Each time I try to scan the QR code XDrip+ crashes. I'll include a screenshot of it crashing and the System Status. Thanks in advance for help.

Unfortunately, as of 2024.05.29, Android 6 is no longer supported.
But, we can try.

You can see an alternative way for scanning the QR code other than using the camera on the following page. Have you tried that?

Unfortunately I am unable to try this method. I've downloaded the QR code image, but XDrip doesn't give me an option to upload a file. When I tap Settings −> Auto Configure it goes right to the camera to scan a barcode.

Oh, I see you are using an older version of xDrip that should be compatible with Android 6.
I'm not sure why xDrip crashes.
The only thing I can suggest is to get a newer phone so that you can use the current release of xDrip.
