modifying multiple hosts

Is there a way to modify multiple proxy_hosts?
I've changed the servers IP address and wondering if there was something I could do to change all the hosts real quick rather than editing each one.

• I tried using internal DNS and instead of using IP's using names and it wouldn't matter, but when accessing from outside the network it was more responsive when using actual IP addresses
• I tried editing the .conf files (sed replace) in the nginx/proxy_host folder but that didn't do anything
