Just as a data point, we already have quite a few of each on the site, brought over from the pre-2016 data. There are other corresponding collections in other countries (National Register of Historic Places in the USA, for example). I don't think dumping all of the NT/EH locations into NDT is sensible, but we shouldn't exclude things just because they're run/managed by those organisations. |

Oh, see also the discussion at #334 which covers much of the same area. |

I guess it comes back to what is my line of thinking then - is it a recommendation or not. I absolutely do not think that a bulk import would be in any way helpful (I've been to many many disappointing NT properties). |

Agreed that we shouldn't bulk-import from NT, EH or similar. But we shouldn't intentionally avoid submitting them. I've submitted a couple I have been to, such as Osborne House that I have visited. As @darkling said elsewhere, we should submit places we've been - or places we would like to go - wishlist/bucketlist style. |

There are a few National Trust places near me which provide a good, interesting and somewhat nerdy day out. I'm aware, however, that somebody in the mood for nerding out over Tudor architecture (or whatever) is likely to go direct to the National Trust or English Heritage website. At least, somebody in the UK who is aware of the NT or EH would, anyway.
So, would it be appropriate to have a subset of the NT/EH sites (the more interesting/nerdy ones) listed on NDT or not?
I can see pros and cons.
Looking at this from a different point of view, I've been to both Château de Fontainebleau and also Château de Vaux‑le‑Vicomte, both of which were absolutely fascinating and both of which could possibly be listed on a French equivalent of NT/EH that I've never heard of - in which case, listing them on NDT would be beneficial to people like me....
Thoughts?
