Some components of the software environment needed to run the FEED database and web-application are reaching end-of-life, and there are no longer resources to support updating the codebase. Hence, FEED as a live database and application (at http://feedexp.org) is currently planned to be wound down at the end of the 2018 Spring semester.

The ontologies will be maintained externally. The module will allow the recordings data and metadata to be used consistently in multi-species and multi-trait analyses (Use Cases 1-6; see Specific Aim 2). The design of the relational model for the ontology module will be based on existing database schemas that leverage ontology-based metadata annotation, such as BioSQL (http://biosql.org) and Chado (Mungall et al, 2007)._
