Clarification on Eliminated/Eliminations Variables

The eliminations/eliminated variables show the multiple-choice options that the examinee crossed out using one of the NAEP digital tools. This tool is an optional tool that the examinee may use to help them eliminate choices they believe are incorrect. This was optional, so most examinees didn't use it.

The vector that is created reflects the number position of the choices with A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4.

Below, you will see an example of how a student may have used the tool and resulting vector.

Unfortunately, just because a student left one or more choices uncrossed, this does not mean definitively that they selected that answer. For example, using the graphic above, just because the student left B uncrossed does not necessarily mean they selected B.
