Can't start on Android (14)

Apk v 0.23.17 installed today. App opens. When I hit the "MPD is not running" button it start-stopps-starts-stopps-... forever within half a second or so.

Log has several problems it seems, something like this, sorry can't copy/paste/save the log:

1. tries to bind ro 0.0.0.0:6600 but says that's already in use.
2. E: decoder wildmidi unavailable, config missing in /etc/timidity/timidity.cfg
3. E: failed to open /data/user/0/org.musicpd/cache/db: no such file or directory
4. no audio output defined in config file
   ....

What am I missing?

It's probably a version of MPD for android that is not compatible with recent versions of android.
The latest version from the master branch should work. (The APK from F-Droid is not yet updated to the latest version. So you may have to build from source.)
