How to make Alsaequal work with MPD

OS is Debian x64 testing, latest MPD from git

/etc/alsa/conf.d/30-alsaequal.conf
ctl.equal {
        type equal;

        controls "/var/lib/mpd/.alsaequal.bin";
}
pcm.plugequal {
        type equal;
        slave.pcm "plughw:CARD=Intel,DEV=0";

pcm.equal {
        type plug;
        slave.pcm plugequal;
}

.alsaequal.bin chmod is 664 owner is mpd, group is audio - sudo -u mpd alsamixer -D equal works. Exit alsamixer and save .alsaequal.bin

        device                  "plug:plugequal"

@jcorporation Thanks for your contribution. I was able to solve the problem with the configuration of alsaequal and MPD. I edited the ALSA and MPD configuration data in my earlier post. The configuration now works, so I also removed the question mark from the discussion title.
