Pack.JSON and Resource Packs

So, I wanted to try my hand at making my own resource pack. Unfortunately, while trying to test some of my changes, I got the error "Missing pack.json in resource pack". I do, in fact, have a pack.json, with the formatting that the wiki says to use. I'm unsure of how to fix this. I've tried changing around things, shortening, changing the formatting of the pack, but nothing seems to work. Any help?

Edit: I've tried to update the pack a bit, and it still isn't working. Could somebody maybe send me a sample resource pack or something i can edit to make this thing work? Here's the error box i get when I start up the game, if it helps.

Edit 2: Im a big dummy. Turns out, the "send to zipped folder" option, when clicking on a folder, puts the folder itself in the zipped one, meaning that the reason it couldn't recognize my pack.json was because it was hidden in another folder.

Can you attach the resource pack to here. It should work, in addition what version are you using?

Sure. It's currently just a texture change for grass, trees, and dirt textures as of now. I'm using 2.3.0, I believe.
