@mc-worker, there is no such command... (Midnight Commander 4.8.33) I can see tag "4.8.33" was added in the Jan 23, 2025, pretty much time has passed since then... If such functionality was added somewhere in the middle of the year, isn't it a time to make a new release to let distros pick it?

Modern graphical text editors like VS Code can display vertical ruler lines at certain column.
Is is possible to add similar functionality to mcedit?
But because mcedit is console editor, use different background color at the ruler column to "draw ruler".
