syntax error from helper.js

I was trying to install your game system however I cannot get a character generator or anything really to work. Looking at the console I can see:
Uncaught SyntaxError: The requested module '../helpers.js' does not provide an export named 'sortTalentsByType' (at CharacterGenerator.js:2:9)

I suspect this prevents all other loading to work.

adding that back from an older version solved it but the hook was then broken and fixed by doing:

Hooks.on("renderActorDirectory", (app, htmlElement, data) => {

		'<button class="character-generator">' +
		' <span class="fas fa-user"></span> ' + game.i18n.localize("ACTOR.GenerateACharacter") +

	$html.find(".character-generator").click(async(event) => {
		event.preventDefault();
		new CharacterGenerator().render(true);
	});
});

Although now when the character creator shows up it hangs after selecting race
