Hi, I am using Birdnet Analyzer for a research project and I would like to try Birdnet on Chirpity as it seems to be faster. Unlike Birdnet Analyzer, I cannot see any parameter to set the date on Chirpity (which is very important as I have recordings for different seasons). The date and time is written in each recording file title, but I don't know if the programm take it into account when running. Is there any way to set the date? Also, I tried to compare results of a Birdnet Analyzer analysis and a Nocmig analysis with chirpity (only on local birds), and nocmig seems to detect more occurences per species, and more species for the same confidence level. How is the programm different from Birdnet? I would like to understand why I see these differences, although I'm using the last version of Birdnet Analyzer (v1.5.1). I'm not working specifically on nocturnal migratory birds, so I would like to know which program is better for my project. Thank you! |

Hi @TK59000,
The first item of the Help > Using Chirpity guide provides instructions for setting a file date, if necessary.
The nocmig models are similar to BirdNET. They have been trained on data with a bias toward nocturnal flight calls, but are confined to a range of European species. You can inspect which species from the help menu, or from the settings panel. |
