Hi @FlorianH27 , as Chirpity was originally developed to support Nocmig, the night periods are those between civil dusk and dawn, as set out here: https://www.trektellen.nl/static/doc/Protocol_for_standardised_nocturnal_flight_call_monitoring_v01.pdf Setting your own periods sounds like it could get very complicated very quickly. What are you trying to do that needs that? |

Hi @Mattk70, sometimes I would like to extend the night period by an hour or two (I recorded non-stop for several days). But if it's difficult to implement, you don't have to do anything. I could just move "my" night-time files to a separate folder. |

I use the SunCalc library, so options to select one of the boundaries it provides, e.g. goldenhourdawn start/end, wouldn't be hard to implement as an option. But then there is the UI, boundary checking & testing. It took an age to get the initial dawn dusk boundaries working for multi day recordings! But, I know a few people that like to record a bit after dawn, so I'll have a think. |

On the one hand, I would be interested to know which time period is used to define the NocMig mode. On the other hand, it could be an idea for a new feature to be able to set one or more time periods for the analysis by yourself.
