Window Border Glitching due to upstream bug

Hey, just making this issue to help (or well, reassure) anyone in my situation. (I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to fix it.

Seems tidal-hifi is affected by an upstream Electron bug (electron/electron#46484), causing glitchy window borders for Gnome Wayland users.

Disabling Wayland and forcing X11 fallback (Via xwayland) seems to mitigate the issue.

Seems screenshots and screen recordings of the buggy behaviour appear different to actual movement of the window :p, still you can see it's not normal behaviour.

Running the latest version from Flathub (5.18.2), not too sure how far along the fix is from the Electron contributors, I was going to suggest an Electron downgrade to 34.3.2/34.3.3 (last known working versions) but they're from around Nov 2024, with a lot of missing security backports so not the best idea. I'll keep an eye on the Electron issue and submit a PR with a bump for Electron when it's available if you'd like.

I'd say the bug was introduced with afd05ae, but I haven't tested this as I'm just living with the buggy borders lol

But it is the commit where Electron is bumped from 31.1.0 to 35.1.1

Still works with from source and with an Appimage i aquired from the aur. Seems only Flatpak is affected.

P.S. I am a noob using Nobara.

This was an issue for me until I manually updated the electron dependency from 35.1.1 to 35.2.0

looks like the upstream electron bug is fixed electron/electron#46624

it is also backported to 33, 34, 35 and 36 releases.

PS: i am using the tidal-hifi-bin package v5.19.0 from AUR repo in Arch Linux and it has this issue.

I'll have to wait until castlabs patches their versions but after that I see no issues into upgrading :)

I think I have the same issue, using the tidal-hifi_5.19.0_amd64.deb package.

Setting this env var fixes the issue too:

alternative (more invasive way), change the value from auto to x11 in the Desktop-File
