We are improving how PhysioNet is integrating with cloud providers, particularly for credentialed datasets. I'll note this internally as removing the bucket is likely just an unintended side-effect of changing things in the backend. |

Hi everyone,
I am currently working on a project involving the MIMIC-III waveform data (approximately 6.7 TB). Back in May/June, I was able to quickly download it via the S3 bucket "physionet-open," but it has since disappeared from that location. Now, using the standard wget method recommended on the dataset page, the maximum total download speed I can achieve is around 50 KB/s—regardless of whether I use wget, parallel wget, or lftp.
I also noticed that the waveform dataset is not clearly mentioned as a distinct dataset on the official GitHub or PhysioNet pages. Are there any plans to move this dataset to platforms like GDC or AWS?
At the current download speed, completing the download would literally take years.
Thank you for your help and support.
P.S. I have also tried downloading via Google Cloud VMs located in various regions, but the speed remains unchanged.
