GFM Model Example

Hi,

I wanted to know if you have any examples in which the Ghost Fluid Method (model_eqns=1) have been used. If so please could I see any? I have not been able to find any in the examples provided.

model_equations = 1 doesn't correspond to the ghost fluid method but rather a pi-gamma model (per this paper https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcp.2006.04.018). Sorry for the confusion!

Hi, I have set up an example using the Pi-Gamma model, which I believe the file has been set up appropriately as it passes pre-processing. However I receive this error as the simulation begins:

At line 1065 of file /path/to/MFC/src/common/m_variables_conversion.fpp
Fortran runtime error: Index '0' of dimension 1 of array 'qk_cons_vf' below lower bound of 1.

I have also provided the setup file in the attachments.

I would suspect you still have to prescribe fluid properties

Where the different variables go in the conservative variable array can be seen in m_global_parameters.fpp

Based upon Section 5 of the Case Files documentation, regarding fluid properties only gamma and pi_inf are applicable to the Pi-Gamma model. I have included these properties in the fluid property section of the file, however the same error arises.

I must admit I have not used this model in a very long time, and don't remember exactly how it's best marshaled. I will try to make time to try myself, but in the meantime, if you look at the code structure, you should be able to readily reason about how to use this model_eqns == 1. If you still don't get it working, please provide code snippets that suggest an inconsistency!
