Dear MDAnalysis Development Team,
I am Tijil Minocha, a second-year engineering student at Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India. I am writing to express my keen interest in contributing to MDAnalysis, specifically in the area of Benchmarking and Performance optimization. Upon exploring the organization’s ideas, I was inspired by the vision and the impactful projects MDAnalysis is building. I am thrilled to see how closely these align with my passion for developing software that addresses significant challenges of the society and improves lives. Contributing to the benchmarking and performance optimization project excites me as it offers an opportunity to hone my problem-solving skills while exploring optimal and faster approaches.

Moving forward, I’ve familiarized myself with the contribution guidelines and am in the process of setting up my development environment. I plan to start by tackling existing issues labeled for performance enhancements and would greatly appreciate any guidance on where my contributions could be most impactful, as well as advice on how to proceed further.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to MDAnalysis and learning from this amazing community.
Best regards,
Tijil Minocha
