Long story short: Riot plans to bring Vanguard to LoL late February or early March which renders wine-lol, and all projects around it, useless.

Probably there is a chance to get the Mac OS version to run at some point, if some of the people, who helped with patching Wine to work with LoL over and over again, help improve https://www.darlinghq.org/ to a point where it allows to execute LoL. Mac OS does not allow kernel level access, so Vanguard can not be implemented there.

I've added this Issue to make sure to inform users coming here. I had a warning about not investing any money into the game on all my websites around "wine-lol" for years.

I initially planned to lock this Issue from the start, but decided to keep comments open for now and lock if heated discussions should start here.

Just as a reminder: I stopped playing LoL years ago, so I will likely not be involved in any future work around getting LoL to work on Linux again.
