Strange crash at the healing tutorial

Issue Summary:

There is a strange bug I seem to encounter that I don't know is only specific to my hardware or not, but every time I complete the healing tutorial, it seems to crash right afterwards. It also only happens when a controller is plugged in, and the only way to "fix" it (trust me I've tried everything) is to limit the core affinity to two. When the crash happens also depends on how long you've played the game for, if you load a save at that point, it won't crash, but if you reload it again, it will crash and keep crashing. And for any more information, here are the crash logs from Event Viewer.

Reproduction:

Get to the healing tutorial on the virtuous mission with a controller and complete it, the crash will happen, recommended a 9800X3D is used.

Users have reported that this crash only occurs when Steam's "Xbox Extended Feature Support Driver" is installed, and DOES also inconsitently occur while no controller plugged in / while only playing on mouse/keyboard.

Uninstalling Steam's extended support drivers reportedly resolves the issue.

As to why this occurs, the Extended support drivers set up an os-level virtual controller so that controller functions are always intercepted by their drivers. This can result in games sending commands to a controller with an invalid handle - which causes the crash.

Doesn't work for me, it still crashes. And the only way to fix it for me is to limit the CPU affinity to two cores. And I'd know, because I was the one that reported it to you over DMs.

two other folks have had the exact same issue in the last week, one with a Intel i5-13600K, and a second person who also has a Ryzen 7 9800X3D (the same CPU you have.) limiting core count resolved their crashes as well.

Could I trouble you to send a dxdiag report btw?

Start/Windows Key -> type in Dxdiag -> run it -> let it finish loading -> save all information

One person I was talking to said because whether a controller is plugged in or not is a factor, that is has something to do with how the game handles Steam Input.
