Questions about Home Assistant integration and validation process

Thanks for maintaining this amazing project. I have a few questions about the overall device and code validation process, particularly in relation to integration with Home Assistant:

1. How do you verify Home Assistant compatibility?
2. Who typically contributes device support code? (Is it from vendors or community developers?)
3. Is there any approval process between Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant? If so, how does it work?
4. How are apps and devices validated before merging?

I would greatly appreciate your insights, or if there’s any document you could point me to.

1. Z2M follows the MQTT interfaces defined by Home Assistant (e.g. for a light: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/light.mqtt/)
2. Mostly community, for some brands the vendors (e.g. Third Reality and SONOFF)

To expand the coverage of Zigbee devices for apps unsupported by LG Electronics' smart ecosystem, I plan to develop an application utilizing herdsman-converter.
As previously mentioned, once developed, I intend to add it to the list of integrations on the Zigbee2MQTT GitHub page.

But using zigbee-herdsman-converters library is not a direct integration with Zigbee2MQTT, so I doesn't have to be listed there.

If I build the app, would it be possible to get it included in the Zigbee2MQTT GitHub integrations list, even if it's not a direct integration with Zigbee2MQTT?

No, because its not an integration with z2m (you are just using the underlying libraries)
