How can I copy Bleak's functionality?

Bleak is a cross-platform BLE library written in Python. I have some demo code using it that works really well and I'm trying to translate it into C++ with sdbus-C++. I used Me and the Devil BlueZ: Reading BLE Sensors From C++ as a starting point but I'm not getting the messages I'd expect so I debugged the Python and found they were actually listening to all DBus messages and filtering the ones they were interested in - see https://github.com/hbldh/bleak/blob/develop/bleak/backends/bluezdbus/manager.py#L227:

1. Create system DBus listener.
2. Add message handler _parse_msg
3. Add rules like "InterfacesAdded" on "/org/bluez/".
4. _parse_msg parses messages and calls correct callback.

How can I do this in sdbus-c++?

I don't understand why I'm not receiving properties updates. I use sdbus::Properties_proxy to setup my own onPropertiesChanged. I can run sudo dbus-monitor --system "destination='org.bluez'" "sender='org.bluez'" on Ubuntu and see hundreds of these:

but my onPropertiesChanged isn't being called. Is sdbus-c++ filtering these out because they're from the same device? Is there any way of disabling this filtering? Or is sdbus-c++ just not working properly?
