When you pop open this hell of a page on Safari with dark mode on, the damn link colors are like a camouflaged ninja against the black backdrop. Eyes-strainingly unreadable, man.
Seriously, what the f*ck? A website ain't a damn Rorschach test. It's a communication tool, and guess what? The basic purpose of text on a site is to be visually consumed, not to give you a migraine. So don't screw it up with bad contrast.

<meta name="color-scheme" content="light dark"> is all you need, and is already inside! js is acceptable, css is legacy garbage from web 1.0 and should've been dropped instead of flash.
if you absolutely must, define both the background and foreground colors, with sufficient contrast. wcag guidelines. read them.

plus, white on pure black also causes problems! some people with bad eyes can actually read better when it's not on pitch black!
add the preceding tag to the original mother-fucking website, and i find it easier to read than this! both use https and brotli compression, so they're technically the same.
