I believe @JonasKoziorek has an example of using SchmelcherDiakonos together with PoincareMap. I am not sure where it is right now, but we should put it in the docs. If you can paste it here @JonasKoziorek that would be great! Perhaps this example should be included in the tests as well.

I just looked at my local code and I don't have a working example. As far as I remember SchmelcherDiakonos was working with PoincareMap out of the box and in theory should be able to detect POs of a continuous-time dynamical system. I tried it with the Lorenz system and was only able to detect fixed points.
Thanks for looking, hm that's unfortunate I also remember we have seen it work.... Well, no problem, we can use the thomas cyclical model to detect a period-3 orbit of the poincare map in the docs.
