What to do before first release

I'd like to cut a new release by the end of next month. One thing I'd been meaning to do was to create basic documentation, which was done by #113. What else we may want to bring in before a first release? Going through the list of open issues:

• use CheckedSizeProduct.jl for implementing checked_dims #90 is probably good to go Edit: I don't think that's necessary before a release: it's not a user-facing feature, can be done also after the first release without breaking anything
• let a dependency package own collect_as? #81 but this package doesn't exist yet, right?
• stuff like Support pointers as memory backend #61 and MemoryViews.jl interoperability #111 doesn't seem to require breaking change and could be implemented later (maybe even with pkgextensions)
