managed to do so, it is fixed, though now i have an issue with LightDM itself

Ah, that's expected when running in debug mode. As there's no active lightdm environment, it will show an error. You could try to run it with lightdm --test-mode, which runs a lightdm window with the greeter inside (you must change the greeter that lightdm uses to set nody-greeter).

Hi, sorry for the late response. This seems a LightDM error, perhaps? The greeter seems to have issues to retrieve data from LightDM. Have you tried another greeter like lightdm-gtk-greeter? Does lightdm-gtk-greeter work?
