District info no longer available when selecting district shape

Users can no longer select a district shape and view further information, such as the district number.

This is still true, sadly. Does anyone know how best to still access the underlying information?

I am not sure when or why GH moved away from a geojson file previewer that showed associated metadata with a click, but they did.

If you want that sort of functionality, you will have to download the file first and open it in a program that can render geojson. I would suggest Qgis. It is an open-source project (so free to download and use) and has a strong user community and many online tutorials to get you started. Of course, there are lots of other options. For example, it is easy to render thematic maps from geojson files using R.

One other thing to note. When you render maps in Qgis or whatever you use, it may sometimes appear that there is only one district when there should be several. This can happen if there is a statewide at-large district that is being rendered on top of the other districts. In such a case, you will have to filter out the at-large district or force the program you are using to render the at-large district first placing in "under" the other districts rather than "on top".
