Animate DropdownMenu

Is there a way with the makeAnimated() function to animate anything other than the MultiValues? I've looked all over the place, but all solutions I can find for actually animating the dropdown Menu (and its contents) are external to the react-select library and lead to accessibility problems. Thanks much!

Doing something like the following in my object of custom components does not seem to result in any noticeable animation to the dropdown:

Menu: (props) => {
	const animatedComponents = makeAnimated()
	console.log('animatedComponents', animatedComponents);
	
	return (
		<animatedComponents.Menu
			{...props}
			innerProps={{ ...props.innerProps, 'data-cy': 'SelectMenu' }}
		>
			{props.children}
		</animatedComponents.Menu>
	);
},
