Intel realsense D455 is not recognized

Hello,

I recently purchased an Intel RealSense D455 and installed the latest Intel RealSense SDK. Initially, the camera was detected correctly in the RealSense Viewer, which then prompted me to update the firmware. I proceeded with the update, and the program indicated that the firmware update was successful.
However, after the update, my PC no longer recognizes the camera. I was using the original USB 3.0 cable during the update.
After that, I went to device manager to see if it's there

1. When checking Device Manager, under the Universal Serial Bus controllers section, I found an unrecognized USB device, which I believe is the camera.
2. I then tried using another USB cable, and the camera appeared under Cameras as Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Depth Camera 4n0 Depth, but it still is not recognized in the RealSense Viewer.
   Could you advise on the next steps to recover the camera?

Hi @Mohammad-Amin-Jenadele Which version of the RealSense Viewer did you perform the firmware update in, please? The minimum firmware version that D555 supports is 5.13.0.50. If the firmware update was done in a Viewer version that is older than 2.50.0 then it would install a firmware that is incompatible with D455 and prevent it from operating.

The Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Depth Camera 4n0 Depth status does indeed indicate that you have an incompatible firmware installed. There is no software recovery method for this, unfortunately.

If your D455 was recently purchased then it will still be within its 12 month warranty period. I would therefore recommend contacting the retailer that you purchased it from to enquire about an RMA return under warranty for a replacement.

It appears there is no other way than give the camera to intel or buy a new one.
