Reason for the current release drought

Hello all,

I just wanted to get word out that this project is not abandoned, I have just been super busy over the summer and torn over whether to push a new release knowing that the deadlock bug (which is caused by rayon-rs/rayon#592) would still be a common issue that people face every time they use the crate. I'll probably just end up releasing with a warning or doing some hacky workaround, but I'm currently still too busy to make meaningful progress.
