Remove border thickness from checkbox field

Is there any way to remove a border from a checkbox field? I have a checkbox that is a form field but that that form field maps to multiple places on the PDF. If the form field on the PDF is super small and a thickness on the form field is set to thick then I am never able to see the checkmark when the box is checked. I was just looking for a way to delete the border altogether and just render the check.
