RHEL 8 - cannot build and install - multiple macro problems

**Hello trying to install netperf on:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10
automake noarch 1.16.1-8.el8**

$ autoconf
configure.ac:18: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE

configure.ac:67: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_CHECK_SA_LEN
configure.ac:99: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_CONDITIONAL

Saw a note on this: did not really help
./autogen.sh

$ autoreconf

Tried the m4_pattern_allow in the configure.ac no help

AC_HEADER_TIME
AC_HEADER_STDBOOL
m4_pattern_allow([AC_CHECK_SA_LEN])
AC_CHECK_SA_LEN(ac_cv_sockaddr_has_sa_len)

$ configure

How can I get this to compile successfully?
