Subscriptions sometimes don't work #23
Description
When trying to subscribe to another account, sometimes it doesn't work and doesn't tell the user what happened.
For example, when trying to subscribe to efec2190-34bc-4073-9c0e-ab3af4bc8909 (Kal's ID), the app fails silently and records a data_not_found error to the console.
Alternatively, when trying to subscribe to 438d487a-bf23-4550-988a-9e3399ea4407 (Craig's ID), it appears to work (there are no error messages in the console), but never displays the subscription in the settings page:
