Ideas, Features and Considerations related to Printing and Layouting

I have done a lot of layouting and printing, so here is a brainstorm of features I think could be important or at the very least useful.
Pre-existing proposals and discussions are linked.

I know not all of them will be incredibly useful. :P

• CMYK and special color space support
• Support for DPI and other Units of measurement
• live print preview -> so I can guess how my print looks on my monitor
• utility for assigning paths as cutout (maybe selecting some outlines as cutouts and links them to a cutout layer. Should be pretty easy to set up in the graph and could be a nice tool for the main editor)
  • preview cuts with red outlines and cut-offs with transparency (this will probably involve some guesswork at times)
• dynamic layouting (some sort of system like CAD or HTML/CSS or Godot Containers that allow a user to create a flexible layouts with)
  • linking one graphite document into another and have it fit itself into a given footprint
  • linking text documents (markdown, odt, latex)
• multi-page support
  • Front-and-back page handling, Folding
    • see-trough preview where you can see the back when looking at the front
    • assigning a layer as the backside of another layer so when you move one to the left the other moves to the right
• Translation / Internationalization
• Packing and Arrangement nodes to create printing layouts (for sticker sheets, card games, maybe even books?)
• support for "padded" document formats (there are standardized extra large A3 sheets that leave some extra margins for cutting)
• cut-guides, markers, test patterns, safety-margins ... just things that make life easier for processing prints
• a node for creating different types of halftone patterns (e.g. for mesh printing)
• assigning materials to shapes for printing on/with foils and such
• (3D?) preview of designs on some typical types of clothing (including cloth patterns)example from mch
• preview that lets you visualize a document in different environments with some lighting guesswork (as a poster on a street in direct sunlight or in shade, partially in shade by a tree, behind a window, inside a night club ...)
• side-by-side RGB and CMYK comparison
  • out-of-target-space-heatmap that highlights areas that cannot be displayed by a target space?
• some way to support pantone that is not a licensing nightmare? -> would require a very sound fair use argument and will likely not be possible.
• fold lines, markings, glue areas, linking path lengths for creating paper-craft or sewing patterns
