How does Kaniko interact with cloud providers?

I am using Kaniko pointing to a context stored in an Azure Blob container with all the needed files for the image build. I was wondering how Kaniko does the download because the storage account is private and not accessible publicly (manually I would use AZ CLI or AzCopy tools).
