New image objects no longer display placeholder for a description

Previously, new image objects always include a placeholder to provide a description of the image, which I always provide.

I was working on a CR today and noticed that new images no longer include the prompt, and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would enable it.

The older images that already have descriptions still have them.

Hi @JaniceManwiller, we made the caption optional, you need to enable it on the image options, like so:

First, open the image's edit menu:

Next, enable the caption:

Then, the caption placeholder will display below the image and you'll be able to edit it like you're used to:

Thanks - I was looking in the dot menu for the configuration option.

It is a little inconvenient to have to enable it for every image that I add. As a feature request, it would be nice to have a space configuration to set defaults for things like this. A couple of examples:

• Whether to display captions for new images
• Alignment for tables - I currently have to change the vertical alignment for every column in every table

I'm sure there are other items that it would be nice to set and forget instead of having to manually change it every time.
