Use SpecIF as Intermediate Format

The Specification Integration Facility (SpecIF) is an information model to build a Knowledge Graph (aka Property Graph) with typed nodes, edges and properties. Schema and constraints are available to assure data quality.

In an intermediate step, model data of different notation and tools is translated to SpecIF. From there, any data format for knowledge graphs can (and will) be created.

Do we want an intermediate format, at all? Why not use OWL/RDF directly?

A discussion with an experienced colleague in OWL/RDF shared the observation that different tools interpret RDF differently (e.g. with respect to blank nodes). If that is confirmed, different flavors of OWL/RDF are needed for different tools processing the data. Then, OWL/RDF does not qualify as intermediate format.
