Copilot4Eclipse Chat is a grey empty window

I've installed Copilot4Eclipse via the Eclipse Market Place into Eclipse 2025-06. The install completed cleanly. I've verified connection to github.com is "OK". After clicking "Open Chat Panel", a grey window appears with the word Loading in it. After a few more seconds, the word Loading disappears, and the grey window is left. There is nothing else in the box at this point, and remains in this state until the window is closed. Please help/advise.

Dave - certainly an odd issue, I have a few questions:

1. Just a sanity check - do you experience the same behavior if you restart Eclipse?
2. You mentioned Eclipse 2025-06 - can you share what specific package this is? (Enterprise, Java, PHP, etc.)
3. Do code completions work - if you're editing code, do you see suggestions from Copilot? If you haven't tried this yet, please do and let us know.
4. Are there any errors logged by Copilot4Eclipse in the Error Log view? You could also attach the entire log here (or email support@genuitec.com) as there is additional diagnostic information that Copilot4Eclipse logs that could be useful.

1. I've restarted Eclipse several times - no change in behavior
2. Java
3. Yes. Code completions are working
4. please see attached log after a fresh restart and starting the Copilot chat panel

Thanks for the log, definitely helpful! I have a feeling there could be a compatibility problem with the version of Node on your system. If you go to the command line and type node --version, what version do you see? It should be Node 20 or higher; if lower, please update your OS node install to the most recent release and hopefully that will fix the issue.

If the Node version was lower than 20, please let us know what version you had - we'll have to look into why Copilot4Eclipse did not reject it and move on to using in-built executable that we also include with Copilot4Eclipse.

Thanks - I tried Node 22.18 myself and had no issues with chat.

We come back to this error in the log you shared earlier which led me to believe you may have had an incompatible version of Node installed.
[Warning] [certificates] Failed to read root certificates: Error: \\?\C:\Users\XXXXXXX\.p2\pool\plugins\com.genuitec.copilot4eclipse.copilotapi_1.7.0.202508130749\copilot-api\api\crypt32.node is not a valid Win32 application.

Could you check the MD5 or SHA256 hash of the crypt32.node file at that location to ensure the file is not corrupt? This is what it should be:
