Hi,
till Stm32CubeIDE 1.18. and copilot4Eclipse 1.5.0 all work perfectly.

Update to Stm32Ide 1.19 and copilot4Eclipse 1.6.0 it does not work.

Can you elaborate on "does not work"?

Here's what I have done so far:

1. I installed the latest STMCubeIDE 1.19.0 on Win11.
2. I checked for updates which there were none.
3. I installed Copilot4Eclipse 1.6.1 from the Eclipse Marketplace. During the install process I "trusted" the update sites and completed the installation.
4. I started up STMCubeIDE and clicked through the menus, opened the ChatPanel and submitted a request successfully.

I did not try smart code completions yet from an editor.

Any additional details you can prove would be appreciated, e.g., error log, screenshots, scenario that reproduces error...

Hello. It is not clear to me what is happening. When I open stm32ide, it looks to work for the first requests, then it stops At beginning I thought there was something in my network that blocked it but on another virtual machine which I did not update everything is ok. Let me analyze better which conditions are and report. We hadthe same problem here with cubeide 1.19 and copilot 1.6.1

the plugin is connected to copilot and shows ready state

but in the logs i see

java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot read field "id" because "model" is null at com.genuitec.copilot4eclipse.chat.ui.AIChatView2.handleMessageInputRequest(AIChatView2.java:1120) at com.genuitec.copilot4eclipse.chat.ChatService$1.run(ChatService.java:603) at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:63)

and no hints are given & chat is not working either. In the preference where i select the model it says login required but in the menu it says it is logged in

if i log out and log in again then it works. at a colleague workstation it is still not working as he gets an error the sign on process did not finish in the last step (on the github website it says he is loggid and everything is fine)

i down't know if there is a difference according to the account you have. we have company accounts where we don't have username/password. it is just one name with single sign on and a code generated by the IDE

1. Prior to installing Copilot4Ecipse 1.6.1 were you successfully using an earlier version of Copilot4Eclipse?

2. For SSO we have an early version of Copilot4Eclipse with that support. Would you be interested in giving it a go? If yes, send a msg to support@genuitec.com to my attention and a link to this thread. I'll follow up from there.

sorry, was on holiday.

i would give it a try. i could install the plugin in the past without problems but now i always get an error during install of the plugin.
i expect it is somehow related to our company proxy but it seems like different IDEs behave differently.
i use renesas e2 studio which is also eclipse based and there i can install the plugin without troubles via marketplace

i send a mail to the support

this is my current error log (i removed the plugin the last time for reinstall and now i cannot install anymore)
so if there is a offline install version i would also give this a try

the installation works for me now if i configure the proxy like this with username/password and the proxyadress

but still the problem...in the menu it says it is logged in, everthing fine when i try to configure (where you can set the model) a login is needed. there are no suggestions in this state, chat does not work etc.

but it is not obvious as the menu says everything is fine. when you login again it works (for some time)
