Hmm. One unfortunate consequence of posting an idea directly to Discussions (instead of using the Feature Request form in Issues) is that you don't see this note that's included on the form: All device features must first exist in KDE ConnectGSConnect works in concert with the KDE Connect app on paired Android devices. Communication between GSConnect and the device is controlled by KDE Connect, not GSConnect. Any request that would require features not supported in KDE Connect, or would require GSConnect to deviate from the KDE Connect protocols, cannot be implemented and will not be considered. All such requests should be made to the KDE Connect project. The requested functionality can only be implemented in GSConnect after support is added to KDE Connect. In short, there's no point in discussing a feature like that in GSConnect if support for it doesn't exist in the KDE Connect Android app, since that's not up to us. That's not any sort of commentary on the feature idea itself, it's just that this is not the right place to discuss it. (I'll have to check whether Discussions supports any sort of new-post form/template like Issues does. Maybe we can display the same notice here.) |

So my laptop doesn't have a fingerprint sensor inbuilt and my workstation is quite spread out so accessing my devices (unlocking them) via fingerprint sensor on my phone would not only be very efficient but also a lot of fun. I Understand there might be some concerns like using fingerprint every time on phone might prompt devices to be unlocked unintended. But I think we can figure a safe way to implement it. Again I know many may not like this features but i believe as an optional feature it would be really helpful and cool :).
