Recommendations?

Hi all,

Not a Yamtrack user, but are user recommendations available as a feature?

My family constantly swaps media recommendations, but rather than the recommendation getting lost in a chat, we've been wanting something that'll let us unobtrusively make the recommendation to someone, and hopefully log a text-field with the "why".

Even better if we can avoid recommending something that someone has already watched/played/read/heard, or worse still, didn't enjoy.

I guess I'm looking for the mixed media equivalent of something like Trakt or Goodreads.

If you mean getting recommendations based on what you've seen/played/read? Not yet, but it can be implemented. Currently it only shows recommendations that are similar to a specific media on their details page.

Not so much algorithmic recommendations ala YouTube, but more human-curated recommendations. E.g., I know my cousin will like x so I send him the recommendation of x with a text-field blurb explaining the "why" he'll probably enjoy or come away from it with a little more knowledge.

The idea being to replace messages in a chat thread that get lost with a proper tracking system so people know what they have and haven't experienced yet, and likewise, users can make recommendations to them via the system in a sort of "inbox"/queue of things they should check out.
