The Funkin' GitHub Monthly Roundup - April 2025
Hey Funkin’ coders, bug hunters, and hotfix enjoyers,
Welcome back to the Monthly Roundup, where we summarize this month’s events in the repository!
One Year Anniversary
Can you believe it’s already been a full year since Weekend 1 released? I still remember that day like it was just last weekend…
When the update first came out, the game was Null Object Reference here and Pico gone missing there, but it wasn’t long before a whole wave of new contributors came to save the day!
Thank you to each and every one of you for your contributions to the development of Friday Night Funkin’. Whether you opened an issue to report a game-breaking bug or submitted a record-breaking optimization, the game just wouldn’t be the same without you! 🎵
Progress Report
Here’s what we’ve achieved this month:
topic
labels:freeplay
andart and animation
status: resolved internally
label green :)Okay, that was a lot. Here are the important parts:
I love how things are shaping up a month after Pit Stop 2!
Both repos are looking better than ever, ready for as many issues and PRs as you can submit!
Statistics
And boy did you submit this month…
We’ve been seeing increased activity all around after the update. Those issues and PRs are an unstoppable force!
Here’s how that compares to the past three months of activity combined:
This puts into perspective just how busy we’ve been lately… April really holds its own weight against the previous three months.
Here’s how many open issues and PRs we have at the end of April, compared to February and March:
We’re on the up and up! This is a good thing if you like scrolling through Funkin’ GitHub issues and PRs on your lunch break :P
Oh! We’ve got the pie chart, and this time it features three very active contributors…
Out of 225 open and pending PRs, @Lasercar has authored an impressive 63 of them!
@AbnormalPoof and @KoloInDaCrib also hold large shares, with 22 and 19 PRs respectively. Maybe we’ll hit 300 open PRs soon?
Our pillar of issues grows day after day; here’s where we stand in this lovely May:
Waow. 265 issues awaiting review? The bug report rabbit hole has deepened further than our 209 issues last month.
Fortunately, we do have 178 issues that would be resolved by merging a PR, up from last month’s 150.
On top of that, we already have 16 issues fixed in the upcoming 0.6.4 patch!
Here's the .txt summary for April, courtesy of AbnormalPoof!

Fun Fact
Can you believe it’s already been a full year- wait, we already talked about that.
Oh yeah! Did you know that the composers are planning to release song stems for the first time in 4 years? I’m super excited to see what they give us, just imagine all the possibilities!
Closing
Thanks for reading this jam-packed issue of the Monthly Roundup!
So much has happened for Funkin’ this past year and I’m super hyped to see what’s to come…
Tune in next time for charts charts charts in May’s Monthly Roundup!
