my fnf is broken, i can't swap characters

when i go to the freeplay menu, pressing tab does nothing. i've tried on newgrounds, on itch, and even o nthe downloaded app, whnen i press tab, a sound plays but nothing happens. the only time it works is when i play it on kbh games. i know a new update just came out but the songs aren't there and i cant change characters. what do i do?
