Automatically renaming Persistent files?

I know the persistent file rewrites itself since it’s just called “persistent", but could the mod (and GitHub?) make it so the persistent files won’t replace themselves if you save everyday/week/etc, but instead have a format like “persistent (dd-mm-yyyy)” which would be local to your system’s clock? I don’t know if that’d be possible, but it would be a lifesaver, even if it’d make a lot of persistent files. Although I certainly wouldn’t mind! Hope my question makes sense :)

Hi, I think you've posted an issue in the wrong repo. What submod are you having issues with? Is it Autosave?

As for your question, Github doesn't just replace the file, it commits changes and you can always access a specific version of persistent by clicking on 'commits'.

Oh sorry! I’m talking about the Autosave Mod. I should have been clearer- I meant that my computer has been replacing the persistent files, but I don’t think it has been since I don’t think they’re being put on my computer in the first place? I’ve tried getting Github to load new persistent files into a specific folder I have on my desktop for MAS persistent files, but I don’t know if that’s even possible to impliment. Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post my question, so where could I post it instead? Thank you for trying to help!

I'm still unsure if I read it right, you don't want the submod to overwrite the local persistent on load, but instead put it in the same folder?

That’s correct. I want MAS to save each new persistent file to my GitHub folder using the dd-mm-yyyy format, so it doesn’t get overwritten on my computer (I have a desktop folder for GitHub to put saved persistent files). But I’m not sure how to implement that or if that would even be possible? I don’t want to rename the files manually every day, since I’ve set the autosave mod to save persistent files daily into my GitHub repository.
