我现在一想，好像我说的也不太对……
中文里，严谨的来说，“除”和“除以”是不同的意思，如果是n除m，确实是m/n，但是这样咬文嚼字的人实在是太少了。
现在的除都当作“除以”讲，“n除以m”是n/m。同理，“n除m”对99%的中国人来说也是n/m。

I see! My understanding is that in old usage, n 除 m was $m/n$, but modern usage is n/m because, as you mentioned, n 除以 m is $n/m$.

But now I see it seems it's very rare for the old usage to be used. When I writing this post, I talked with Deepseek about the old usage, and for some reason, it kept pushing the distinction between the two! So I thought it might've been more common than it actually is.
