Generic tool to access SCEA data?

Random crazy idea of the day: Right now _fzo_ is specifically designed to help the FlyBase scRNAseq curators (aka me), and is of no use for anybody else. But the part about downloading, caching, and exploring SCEA datasets has actually nothing to do specifically with FlyBase. Maybe that part could be made into an independent tool to facilitate access to SCEA data?
